As an employee of an agency that provides waiver services, you are required to meet certain training requirements. Select from the options provided to access some of the required training. To receive credit, you must show proof of training with a certificate, questions/answers, etc.

You may need Adobe Acrobat Reader for some of the training. If you do not have that software, you can download it for free from http://www.adobe.com/reader.

ANNUAL TRAINING

Emergency Preparedness

Information on emergency preparedness is updated by APD once a year. Review the information and print and complete the certificate provided.

HIPAA

Follow the link for the DCF website. Select "Administration" at the top and then "DCF Training". Scroll down to select the HIPAA training "HIPAA Information and Action". When you have completed the training, click "non apd/dcf employee and non intranet" to get the certificate. Type your name and print the certificate.

Bill of Rights

Get The Bill of Rights, Title XXIX, Chapter 393.13 FS, to read, answer questions, and check your answers.

Medwaiver Handbook

The Developmental Disabilities Waiver Services Coverage and Limitations Handbook and Appendices (May 2010) can be reviewed online. The Handbook is very long, but you can scroll through the sections page-by-page or use the bookmark to scroll through the sections. Review the information and then complete a certificate.

The Medicaid Waiver Services Agreement and Attachments are found at the end of the Waiver Handbook. Use the bookmark to find Appendix C and D to review the information, then complete a certificate.

Company Policies & Other Information

Once a year you need to sign the company policies and submit them for credit. Select the company for which you are an employee to locate company-specific information.

Core Assurances

Get the Core Assurances to read here or to print and read. You must answer questions abou the Core Assurances to get credit. Review the information, print the questions, answer them, check your answers, then submit your answer sheet for credit.

Medication Administration Validation

Remember, you must successfully complete the Medication Administration Course and be validated from an APD-approved trainer BEFORE you administer or supervise medications. See your employer if you have not taken approved course yet.

The Medication Administration Course is taken 1 time if you keep up with your annual Validation. You must re-take the course if you allow your Validation to lapse.

You must be validated on-site every year before your validation expires. The approved trainer who conducts the Medication Administration Course will usually also validate you, but not always. See your employer to get validated or re-validated.

SLC Annual Training

You must have a total of 8 hours of training every year covering some aspect of supported living. You may use some of the training here, training provided through Delmarva, APD Area Training Information, APD Provider Training, APD at TCC, or other training provided by qualified, approved trainers. Follow the link for SLC Annual Training to take you to company provided annual SLC-specific training options.

SEP Annual Training

You must have a total of 8 hours of training every year in a topic covering some aspect of supported employment.
