As an employee of an agency that provides waiver services, you are required to meet certain training requirements. Select from the options provided to access some of the required training. To receive credit, you must show proof of training with a certificate, questions/answers, etc.

You must take this training or show your employer a valid certificate BEFORE you start working.

You may need Adobe Acrobat Reader for some of the training. If you do not have that software, you can download it for free from http://www.adobe.com/reader.

PER CERTIFICATE TRAINING

Zero Tolerance

You must renew this training every 3 years based on your previous certificate.

There are 2 ways to take this class:
- follow the link for APD at TCC.  Follow the instructions on the TCC website carefully to register for training and obtain your unofficial transcripts. You must register at least one day prior to beginning the training.

-follow the link for the APD Area Training Information, select Area Training Calendar and Course Descriptions, find Zero Tolerance and look at the calendar to see when the class is offered, then select On-Line Training Registration and sign up for the class.

CPR

You will need to register for a Adult CPR course with your local fire department or Red Cross. Other qualified trainers may also be available, but you must be sure to get training that will certify you in Adult CPR. Submit your card or a copy for credit.

You must also renew your CPR certification based on the certificate expiration date.

HIV/AIDS

You can take HIV/AIDS through the APD Area Training Information or through another valid approved trainer. You only need to take this one time IF your current certificate does NOT have an expiration date. Otherwise, you must re-certify based on the certificate expiration date.

First Aid

Make sure you re-certify based on the certificate expiration date. You will need to register for a First Aid course with your local fire department or Red Cross. Other qualified trainers may also be available. Submit your card or a copy for credit.
